Scotland Weekly Issue #29

Dear members,

Scotland will be reopening officially on Monday! Many changes were made during the remodelling. Take some time and explore the new landmarks added if you have not done so.

Also thanks for your patience during the past week while we worked on the sims!

RENTAL NEWS
A new rental rate of 10L/prim/week has been set for all shops, kiosk carts and the St. George Area but at the moment only kiosks are available at 150L/week for 15 prims.

We have added 6 advertising boards near the Welcome Area. They are available for rent for 100L per week. You can add your textures and landmarks on the boards.

JOBS
- We are always on the look-out for volunteer greeters and if you would like to help out in Scotland, do send Lacy217 McLuhan a note card notifying her of your interest.
- Our Pipe and Drum Corp is also looking for new members. Contact Jenna Tapioca for more information. It doesn’t matter if you are at a different time-zone from Scotland’s.

COMING EVENTS
Events for this week are as follow:
- As usual we will have DJ Angus for us at Nessie's Pub on Friday, 12 Noon - 2 PM SLT.
- Be sure to attend the West of Ireland Music Festival from 26th-28th October. Scotland and the Tartan Shop is a gold sponsor for the event.
- Like to meet Diana Gabaldon, the author of the best-selling Outlander Series, inworld? Diana will be reading from her new book "Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade" and taking questions at the Amphitheatre of Bantam Dell Island. This is a Scottish themed book so if you are interested, the event is on 11st October @ 6PM PDT.

WHAT'S NEW
*SCOTLAND*
- Major changes here at Scotland, once you landed at the teleporting point, you should see an Interactive Scotland Map (Thanks to Trippi Bellambi). This map will be able to guide you and teleport you to different areas of the 3 regions.
- Let’s go through what we have added here: Walter Scot's monument and garden, stores, kiosk carts, Nessie’s Pub, Armadillo Stage Area, stone circle with an interactive campfire, campfire place and a church.
- Best of all, don’t forget to check out the Mary King's Close. Venture into the hidden underground closes of Mary King's Close to uncover the blood-curdling tales of ghosts and murders, and myths of plague victims being walled up and left to die.

*EILEAN DONAN*
- If you'd like to get married or to host any special events at Eilean Donan Castle, please obtain a info card from the castle itself or from any of the staffs at the Scotland’s Welcome Area.
- Check out the beach too while you are there. Loch Nessie has been sighted at the vicinities!
- Head to Skate Scotland (Work of Trippi Bellambi) for some snowboarding or skiing games. Challenge others to get the highest score now.

*KAHLO*
- We are trying to create a mini-picturesque village of Dornie here.
- Some cottages have been added as accommodations and they should be available for rental soon.
- Check out the Skate Scotland for your ice skating accessories and attires.
- The giant ice rink has been relocated to Kahlo now.

Slainte. Have a nice Second Life!
