Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How to find out how my computer is performing?
Press Cntr-Shift-1.
- FPS: 10-20 in an uncrowded area (higher is better)
- Bandwidth: 20-100kbps after you've been in an area for a few minutes and everything has loaded
- Ping User or Ping Sim: 100-200 if you are in USA/Canada (lower is better)
- Packet Loss: 0.0% (optimal)

Q. After I purchased an item all I see is a box. How do I do next?
Most likely you have to extract the item(s) from the box (container).

To do so, go to somewhere where you can build, drag the box from your Inventory to the ground, right click the box, choose edit, click on the More >> button (unless it already says << Less), click on the Content tab, and then drag each item in the list from the item's contents to any of your preferred Inventory's folder.

Caution: Be careful about buying things from people who are not the creator of the object. Some people like to collect objects which are supposed to be free to the public and resell them to unspecting new residents.

Q. How do I chat with someone?
You can use normal chatting with people up to 20m away from you and you will have to use Shout for those 100m away from you. You can also send Instant Messages directly to people or groups, just click the IM button to start one.

Q. I have joined a group and now I have a title above my name, how do I remove it?
- Open the Edit menu.
- Select Groups...
- Select none or another group.
- Click the Activate button.

Q. How do I set my profile picture?
- Upload an image (File > Upload Image). Each upload will cost you L$10.
- The image you uploaded should be in your inventory's Textures folder.
- Click Edit > Profile.
- Click the profile picture slot, select the image from the Textures folder.
- Click Select to confirm the adding of the image into the picture slot.
